East West Gourmet began in 2000 when our parents, Helen and William Ho, brought their love of Malaysian and Singaporean home cooking to Sydney. William perfected his craft at iconic kitchens, while Helen — originally a tailor — discovered her true calling in the kitchen.

After William's passing, Mum stepped up and trained us, Stanley and Eva, to carry on Dad's legacy. Today, we run East West together as a family — the same recipes, the same love, the same dedication to serving you food that feels like home.

How do I order?

Easy! Just come to our counter at Mandarin Centre food court (Level 2), check our menu board, and order by number. Our famous chicken rice is #8! You can also call ahead on (02) 9411 2811 to order for pickup.

What's your most popular dish?

Our Hainanese Chicken Rice (#8) is the star — we sell 160 plates a day! The thigh meat ($17) sells out fast, so come early. Our laksas and salmon head soup are also huge favourites.

Do you have options for kids?

Absolutely! Kids love our chicken rice and fried rice dishes. We're happy to adjust spice levels and portion sizes. Just ask our friendly staff and we'll sort you out!

How long does my order take?

Most orders are ready in 15-20 minutes. If you're in a rush, give us a call ahead and we'll have it ready when you arrive. Perfect for lunch breaks!

Where are you located and is there parking?

We're at Mandarin Centre food court (Orient Express), Level 2, Chatswood. There's plenty of parking in the centre, and we're right above Chatswood station if you're taking the train!

Do you cater for parties or events?

Yes! We can put together platters and large orders for family gatherings, office lunches, and parties. Give us a call a day ahead and we'll help you plan the perfect spread.
